اس زلف کا اعجاز کسی کام نہ آیا
میں رندِ بلا نوش تہِ دام نہ آیا
کل رات معمّہِ خمِ کاکلِ خوباں
جب تک نہ ہوا حل مجھے آرام نہ آیا
اس بند قبا کا جع ہوا مسئلہ درپیش
مے خوار کا کوئی بھی ہنر کام نہ آیا
مے خانے کا ہنگام نمونہ تھا ابد کا
گزرا بھی تو تحت سحر و شام نہ آیا
اس رات ستاروں میں بھی دیکھا گیا ٹھراو
جس رات کو گردش میں مرا جام نہ آیا
اس زلف کو کھینچا نہ گیا تا بہ حد شوق
کچھ ولولہ دل بھی میرے کام نہ آیا
کل رات مجھے اس نے کنایت سے کیا یاد
کی بات کچھ اس طرح مرا نام نہ آیا
کیا فیصلہ۔ عشق ہو نقد دل و جاں پر
اس کا بھی مزا بے درم و دام نہ آیا
وہ بخل شکر بختئی لب میں تھا کہ مجھ کو
اس نسخہء صدری سے بھی آرام نہ آیا
بت خانہ تع تھا ہی مرا گرویدہء اخلاص
میں حجلہء حوراں سے بھی ناکام نہ آیا
ساغر کی اماں میں تھا مرا کوکب اقبال
زیر اثر گردش ایام نہ آیا
خود ٹوٹ گیا بند قبا بے خبری میں
صد شکر مرے ہاتھ پہ الزام نہ آیا
لمحہ جو ترے ساتھ گزارا تو ابد تھا
تعریف میں ماضی کی یہ ہنگام نہ آیا
کل رات وہ نقش ازلی جام کی تہہ سے
ابھرا تو سہی تا بہ لب جام نہ آیا
عالم ہے یہ اب بے خبری کا کسی نے
پوچھا تو مجھے یاد ترا نام نہ آیا
تا گوشہء زنداں کی طرح عالم اسباب
تا عمر مری روح کو آرام نہ آیا
چھلکا کے سبو ہم نے خزاں کا بھی دیا ساتھ
لب پہ گلہء گردش ایام نہ آیا
کھولا تھا کبھی پیرہن دخت کنشتاں
پھرا راس مجھے جامہء احرام نہ آیا
وہ راز جنوں جو میرے سینے میں تھا محفوظ
وحشت کے بھی عالم میں سر عام نہ آیا
کل شب مجھے جبریل کی آمد کا تھا احساس
دیکھا تو نظر کچھ بھی سر جام نہ آیا
ہم جال بجھاتے ہی رہے زہد و ورع کے
وہ آہوئے اسرار تہہ دام نہ آیا
آئینہ جو دل کا ہوا عکاس بدی بھی
کچھ صیقل آئینہ پہ الزام نہ آیا
میں رند تھا میخانے نے بجشا مجھے اعزاز
شاہوں سے مجھے خلعت و انعام نہ آیا
بہکا بھی جو میں حرف گزارش نہ ہوا خبط
کچھ گفتگوئے شوق میں ابہام نہ آیا
جو میری غزل سے ہوا مسحور پھر اس کو
لطف قصص دارا و بھرام نہ آیا
تھا صاحب اسرار و کرامت تو ظفر بھی
لیکن یہ قدح خوار سر عام نہ آیا
