قیدِ امکاں سے تمنا تھی گمیں چھوٹ گئی
پاؤں ہم نے جب اٹھایا تو زمیں چھوٹ گئی
لیے جاتا ہے خلاؤں میں جمالِ شب و روز
دن کہیں چھوٹ گیا رات کہیں چھوٹ گئی
زندگی کیا تھی میں اک موج کے پیچھے تھا رواں
اور وہ موج، کہ ساحل کے قریں چھوٹ گئی
بود و باش اپنی نہ پوچھو کہ اسی شہر میں ہم
زندگی لائے تھے گھر سے، سو یہیں چھوٹ گئی
دل سے دنیا تک اک ایسا ہی سفر تھا جس میں
کہیں دل، اور کہیں دنیائے حسیں چھوٹ گئی
صبح دم دل کے مکاں سے سبھی رشتے ٹوٹے
در و دیوار سے فریادِ مکیں چھوٹ گئی
کیا غریب الوطنی سی ہے غریب الوطنی
آسماں ساتھ چلا، گھر کی زمیں چھوٹ گئی

Brought life from home, so left here
There was such a journey from heart to the world in which
Somewhere the heart, and somewhere the world is beautiful.
In the morning, all the relations are broken from the house of the heart
The cries of houses were missed from the door and wall.
What a poor countryman
The sky went along, the land of the house was missed.
