جو کچھ بھی گزرتا ہے مرے دل پہ گزر جائے
اترا ہوا چہرہ مری دھرتی کا نکھر جائے
اک شہر صدا سینے میں آباد ہے لیکن
اک عالم خاموش ہے جس سمت نظر جائے
ہم بھی ہیں کسی کہف کے اصحاب کی مانند
ایسا نہ ہو جب آنکھ کھلے وقت گزر جائے
جب سانپ ہی ڈسوانے کی عادت ہے تو یارو
جو زہر زباں پر ہے وہ دل میں بھی اتر جائے
کشتی ہے مگر ہم میں کوئی نوح نہیں ہے
آیا ہوا طوفان خدا جانے کدھر جائے
میں سایہ کیے ابر کے مانند چلوں گا
اے دوست جہاں تک بھی تری راہ گزر جائے
میں کچھ نہ کہوں اور یہ چاہوں کہ مری بات
خوشبو کی طرح اڑ کے ترے دل میں اتر جائے
