16 دسمبر 1978ء کو اردو کے نامور افسانہ نگار، مترجم اور اسلامی تاریخ و ثقافت کے عالمی پروفیسر عزیز احمد کینیڈا کے شہر ٹورنٹو میں وفات پاگئے اور وہیں آسودۂ خاک ہوئے۔ پروفیسر عزیز احمد 11 نومبر 1913ء کو عثمان آباد ضلع بارہ بنکی میں پیدا ہوئے تھے۔ آپ نے جامعہ عثمانیہ (حیدرآباد دکن) اور لندن یونیورسٹی سے اعلیٰ تعلیم حاصل کی۔ قیام پاکستان کے بعد وہ پاکستان چلے آئے اور وزارت اطلاعات سے منسلک رہے، 1958ء میں وہ لندن چلے گئے اور اسکول آف اورینٹل اسٹڈیز میں تدریس کے شعبے سے وابستہ ہوئے۔ 1960ء میں وہ ٹورنٹو یونیورسٹی کے شعبہ اسلامی علوم سے منسلک ہوئے اور آخر تک اسی ادارے سے وابستہ رہے۔ پروفیسر عزیز احمد کا شمار اردو کے صف اول کے افسانہ نگار اور ناول نگاروں میں ہوتا ہے۔ ان کے افسانوی مجموعوں میں رقص ناتمام، بیکار دن بیکار راتیں، ناولٹ خدنگ جستہ اور جب آنکھیں آہن پوش ہوئیں اور ناول گریز، آگ، ایسی بلندی ایسی پستی، ہوس اور شبنم کے نام سرفہرست ہیں۔ وہ اسلامی علوم اور ثقافت پر بھی کئی انگریزی کتابوں کے مصنف تھے اور انہوں نے انگریزی کی کئی شاہکار کتابوں کو اردو میں بھی منتقل کیا تھا۔

On 16 December 1978, Urdu fiction writer, translator and world professor Aziz Ahmed of Islamic history and culture died in the Canadian city of Toronto. Professor Aziz Ahmed, November 11, 1913 He was born in Usmanabad district Barbanki. He studied higher from the University of Usmania (Hyderabad Deccan) and London University. After the establishment of Pakistan, he came to Pakistan and remained connected to the Ministry of Information, in 1958 he was London He went and joined the department of teaching in the School of Oriental Studies. In 1960, he joined the Department of Islamic Sciences at the University of Toronto and remained connected to the same institution till the end. Professor Aziz Ahmed counts the first fiction of Urdu row. Their legendary collections are in dance incomplete, useless days, useless nights, novelt Khudang Jasta, and when eyes are covered and novels, fire, such elevation, such depression, lust and jasmine. He was also the author of many English books on Islamic sciences and culture and he also transferred many masterpiece books of English to Urdu.
