معتقد کون نہیں میرؔ کی استادی کا
میرؔ تقی میر کو ہمارے ادیبوں اور شاعروں نے متفقہ " خداۓ سخن" کا خطاب دیا ہے ۔ اردو کے بڑے بڑے شاعروں نے میرؔ کی استادی اور شاعرانہ کمالات کا اعتراف کیا ہے۔
مرزا سوداؔ نے میرؔ کی استادی کو تسلیم کیا ہے ۔ کہتے ہیں
سوداؔ تو اس غزل کو غزل در غزل میں لکھ
ہونا ہے تجھ کو میرؔ سے استاد کی طرف

مصحفیؔ کہتے ہیں:
اے مصحفیؔ تو اور کہاں شعر کا دعویٰ
پھبتا ہے یہ اندازِ سخن میرؔ کے اوپر

مرزا غالبؔ فرماتے ہیں:
ریختی کے تمھیں استاد نہیں ہو غالبؔ
کہتے ہیں اگلے زمانہ میں کوئی میرؔ بھی تھا
غالبؔ نے یہ بھی کہا:
غالبؔ اپنا یہ عقیدہ ہے بقولِ ناسخؔ
آپ بے بہرہ ہے جو معتقد میرؔ نہیں

نواب مصطفٰی شیفتہؔ نے کہا ہے :
نرالی سب سے ہے اپنی روش اے سیفتہؔ لیکن
کبھی دل میں ہواۓ شیوہ ہاۓ میرؔ پھرتی ہے

خواجہ آتشؔ نے اظہار عقیدت کیا ہے:
آتشؔ بقول حضرتِ سودا شفیقِ من
ہونا ہے تجکو میرؔ سے استاد کی طرف

استاد ناسخؔ کا یہ شعر مشہور ہے جس کا حوالہ غالبؔ نے دیا ہے:
شبہ ناسخؔ نہیں کچھ میرؔ کی استادی میں
آپ بے بہرہ ہے جو معتقدِ میرؔ نہیں

داغؔ دہلوی نے کہا تھا:
میرؔ کا رنگ برتنا نہیں آساں اے داغؔ
اپنے دیواں سے ملا دیکھیۓ دیواں ان کا

مولانا حالیؔ نے بھی میرؔ کی پیروی کا دعویٰ فخر سے کیا ہے:
حالیؔ سخن میں شیفتہ سے مستفید ہے
غالبؔ کا معتقد ہے مقلد ہے میرؔ کا

اکبر الٰہ آبادی فرماتے ہیں:
میں ہوں کیا چیز جو اس طرز پہ جاؤں اکبرؔ
