گو انبیائے عصر ہیں، لیکن بَحُکمِ ذَوق
صہبائیوں کے بھیس میں آتے رہیں گے ہم
سر سے گُزر رہی ہے اگر موجِ خُوں تو کیا
رنگیں رُخوں سے آنکھ لڑاتے رہیں گے ہم
باغِ سُخن کو خُلد بنانے کے واسطے
مُکھڑوں کا آب و رنگ چُراتے رہیں گے ہم
انفاسِ عطر طِیزِ نگارانِ دہر سے
پُھولوں میں شاعری کو بساتے رہیں گے ہم
گُل بانگِ بر شِگال و نَسِیمِ شِمال سے!
لیلائے فن کو وجد میں لاتے رہیں گے ہم
ہر بات پر، خُدا سے کریں گے ہزار ناز
پیہم بُتوں کے ناز اُٹھاتے رہیں گے ہم
کُوئے غِنا میں ، شب کو بجاتے رہیں گے عود
جوئےحِنا میں، دِن کو، نہاتے رہیں گے ہم
ہر شب، نگاہِ شوق کی مِضراب ِنرم سے
مُکھڑوں کے خد و خال بجاتے رہیں گے ہم

روشن ہیں ، جس سے ارض و سماوات کے چراغ
اُس نُور کا سُراغ لگاتے رہیں گے ہم
