شان الحق حقی کی وفات

11 اکتوبر 2005ء کو معروف شاعر‘ ادیب‘ محقق و نقاد‘مترجم اورماہر لسانیات شان الحق حقی ٹورنٹو (کینیڈا) میں وفات پاگئے۔
شان الحق حقی 15 ستمبر 1917ء کو دہلی میں پیدا ہوئے تھے۔ ان کے والد مولوی احتشام الدین حقی اپنے زمانے کے مشہور ماہر لسانیات تھے اور انہوں نے مولوی عبدالحق کی لغت کبیر کی تدوین میں بہت فعال کردار ادا کیا تھا۔ اسی علمی ماحول میں شان الحق حقی کی پرورش ہوئی۔ انہوں نے علی گڑھ مسلم یونیورسٹی سے گریجویشن اور سینٹ اسٹیفنز کالج دہلی سے انگریزی میں ایم اے کیا جس کے بعد وہ آل انڈیا ریڈیو اورہندوستان کے شعبہ اطلاعات کے مشہور ماہنامہ آج کل سے وابستہ رہے۔
قیام پاکستان کے بعد وہ پاکستان آگئے جہاں انہوں نے 1950ء سے 1968ء تک حکومت پاکستان کے محکمہ مطبوعات و فلم سازی میں خدمات انجام دیں، بعدازاں وہ پاکستان ٹیلی وژن کے سیلز ڈپارٹمنٹ سے بھی منسلک رہے۔
شان الحق حقی کو حکومت پاکستان نے ستارہ امتیاز سے نوازا تھا۔ وہ کینیڈا کے شہر ٹورنٹو میں آسودۂ خاک ہیں۔
ان کے دو اشعار ملاحظہ ہوں:

تم سے الفت کے تقاضے نہ نباہے جاتے
ورنہ ہم کو بھی تمنا تھی کہ چاہے جاتے

بھلا دو رنج کی باتوں میں کیا ہے
اِدھر دیکھو مری آنکھوں میں کیا ہے

The death of Shan ul Haq Haqi

On October 11, 2005, a well known poet ' Adeeb ' researcher and critic ' translator and linguistics Shan ul Haq Haqi died in Toronto (Canada).
Shan ul Haq Haqi was born in Delhi on 15 September 1917 His father Maulvi Ehtishamuddin Haqi was a famous linguist of his time and played a very active role in the editing of Maulvi Abdul Haq's dictionary Kabir. Shan ul Haq Haqi was raised in the same academic environment. He graduated from Aligarh Muslim University and made an MA in English from St. Stephens College Delhi after which he remained associated with the famous monthly All India Radio and Information Department of India.
After the establishment of Pakistan, he came to Pakistan where he served in the Department of Publications and Film Making, the Government of Pakistan from 1950 to 1968, after being connected to the Sales Department of Pakistan Television.
Shan-ul-Haq Haqi was awarded the star of Imtiaz by the government of Pakistan. He is a rich man in Toronto, Canada.
