Job Description
SCOPE OF WORK: Provides technical and administrative support within the office of academic advising with responsibility for assisting with the transition of newly admitted students to enrollment in academic programs (e.g. information on course pre-requisites, schedules, placement process and results, accommodations and supports available to students. Collects, maintains, and provides information, data, calendars, and reports. May provide specialized support to select student populations including non-matriculated and technical, may schedule and proctor TEAS testing as needed. This position reports to the Director of Academic Advising at Manchester Community College
ACCOUNTABILITIES :
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Education : Associate’s degree from a recognized college or university with a major study in counseling, education, liberal arts, general studies, or a related field. Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.
Experience : Three (3) years of experience in academic/career advising, admissions, teaching, tutoring, library services, and/or student support within an educational setting. Each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.
OR
Education : Bachelor’s degree from a recognized college or university with a major study in counseling, education, liberal arts, general studies, or a related field. Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.
Experience : One (1) year of experience in academic/career advising, admissions, teaching, tutoring, library services, and/or student support within an educational setting. Each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.
License/Certification: Valid Driver’s License or access to transportation required.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams), Zoom, Word Press, Adobe, and email marketing software. Experience in a higher education environment.

Must be willing to maintain an appearance appropriate to assigned duties and responsibilities as determined by the college.
