We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Sr. Accountant to join our finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned professional to contribute to a fast-paced, growing organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in general ledger and reconciliation, fund accounting, nonprofit and audit.
Responsibilities:
As a Sr. Accountant, your responsibilities will include:
1. Maintaining and managing the company's general ledger system, including preparing and reviewing detailed journal entries.
2. Conducting detailed account reconciliations and analysis to ensure all transactions are accurate.
3. Performing fund accounting activities, including tracking and reporting on our financial resources.
4. Managing financial operations in a nonprofit context, understanding specific regulations and requirements.
5. Leading and participating in internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and standards.
6. Assisting in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statements and reports.
7. Collaborating with other departments to streamline financial processes and procedures.
8. Providing financial advice and strategic input to the management team.
9. Staying current with industry trends, latest audit best practices and the regulatory environment.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you must have:
1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A Master’s degree or CPA certification is preferred.
2. A minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or related field, with a focus on general ledger, reconciliation, fund accounting, nonprofit, and audit.
3. Proven experience with financial statement preparation, budgeting, and financial analysis.
4. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and procedures, including GAAP.
5. Proficiency in accounting software, MS Excel and other financial management tools.
6. Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
7. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
8. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, for interfacing with various departments and stakeholders.
9. High level of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability.
