Overview:
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Sports Coordinator provides direct supervision and leadership to all Sports events. The Sports Coordinator must maintain order and ensure that staff, and volunteers are utilized appropriately to assure that the events are ran properly in accordance with the purpose and policies of the YMCA.

Responsibilities:
Supervise youth and adult programs, paid staff and volunteer members, and in consultation with the Sports Director, establish, review, and appraise performance and recommend training for those persons
Participate in all training events, as determined by the Sports Director
Assist with recruiting volunteers and participants for sports
Maintain relationships with vendors, schools, and other local partners
Assist with marketing programs in order to increase awareness
Help to maintain relations with the community and its representatives, interpreting the YMCA and its work
Schedule and maintain the facilities and equipment of the Branch at the highest level of efficiency
Promotes membership enrollment
Set up facility for games, practices, special events, officiate and supervise gyms
Provide leadership to coaches and referees
Attend required staff meetings
Primary responder
Assist Director in overseeing Saturday game
Attend all special YMCA related, citywide events, as well as special local programs, special classes, and the Core meetings, directed by Director
Qualifications:
Must be 18 years of age
High School diploma or equivalent
Current Driver's License with acceptable record and insurance
Knowledge of the rules of soccer, basketball, football, volleyball, hockey, and racquetball
Current CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid, and Oxygen Administration certification
