Job Description

Join the team redefining how the world experiences design.

Hey, g'day, mabuhay, kia ora, 你好, hallo, vítejte!

Thanks for stopping by. We know job hunting can be a little time consuming and you're probably keen to find out what's on offer, so we'll get straight to the point.

Where and how you can work

Our flagship campus is in Sydney. We also have a campus in Melbourne and co-working spaces in Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide. But you have choice in where and how you work, we trust our Canvanauts to choose the balance that empowers them and their team to achieve their goals.

What you’d be doing in this role

As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.

At the moment, this role is focused on:

  • Developer-Centric Go-to-Market Strategy : Craft a GTM strategy tailored to growing our developer audience, and adoption of Canva’s APIs, SDKs, and developer tools. This includes conducting research to deeply understand the developer persona across startups, independent software vendors and enterprise customers, and map out their challenges, and desired workflows, to inform our product positioning and messaging.
  • Go-to-Market Execution : Implement and optimize the GTM plan, collaborating with our Product, DevRel, Design, and Marketing teams to facilitate the launch of new developer-centric features, tools, programs, and events across various channels, including our annual flagship developer event, Canva Extend.
  • Positioning and Messaging: Craft compelling product narratives and value propositions for our developer offerings, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure our messaging aligns with target audience needs and market trends, and differentiates Canva in the competitive landscape. You will drive messaging consistency across all channels and customer touchpoints, and continually iterate based on developer feedback and market research.
  • Voice of the Developer: Ensure that developer insights/feedback collected via marketing & GTM channels, are communicated internally and used to inform & optimize our developer growth strategies, and influence our developer product roadmap.
  • Developer awareness and adoption :Collaborate cross-functionally to map and instrument the developer marketing funnel. Drive the awareness, adoption, and engagement of Canva's developer tools, utilizing onboarding and retention initiatives to enhance the developer journey.
  • Market & Competitive Research: Source and analyze market and competitive insights as they relate to developers across different segments such as startups or enterprise developers, and translate these insights into actionable workstreams for the ecosystem team.

You're probably a match if

  • You possess 6+ years of product marketing or related experience, with a strong preference for candidates who have marketed to a developer audience and in B2B PMM strategy.
  • You have demonstrated success in developing and executing GTM strategies for developer platforms, tools, or ecosystems.
  • Your exceptional communication skills allow you to translate technical features into benefits for a technical audience.
  • You possess the ability to build strong cross-functional relationships with stakeholders.
  • You demonstrate the ability to understand and identify trends in the market, our competitors, and our developer audience across multiple segments. You share these insights broadly with all key stakeholders and use them to mold the product, messaging, and GTM strategy.
  • As Canva is a fast-growing and paced workplace, you are someone who can juggle multiple projects at once and have strong prioritization skills.
  • You embody a growth mindset and are eager to learn and grow every day. Given that Canva is growing 130% YoY, you're aware that you'll be growing and trying new things every day.
  • You're someone who loves solving customer problems or needs with products and enjoys working closely with product teams to build and launch world-class products.
