Responsibilities:

\n
• Performs centrifugation of specimens and reprints labels as needed.
\n
• Assists with the storage and retrieval of specimens and slides.
\n
• Conducts QA/QC procedures as assigned to ensure accuracy and reliability.
\n
• Adheres to all PPE and safety regulations to maintain a safe work environment.
\n
• Investigates and resolves pending lists to ensure timely processing.
\n
• Receives and sorts specimens efficiently for further testing.
\n
• Decontaminates work areas to prevent contamination and maintain hygiene.
\n
• Performs routine maintenance on instruments, including temperature recording if required.
\n
• Prepares specimens at workstations for testing, including building worklists, checking specimens for clots, aliquotting, and slide preparation.
\n
• Maintains competency in all assigned areas to ensure high-quality work.
\n
• Assists with phone inquiries, checks specimen status in the computer, and directs calls appropriately.
\n
• Prepares reagents as necessary for various tests and procedures.
\n
• Assists with restocking supplies and keeping the supply area organized and clean.
\n
• Utilizes laboratory computer systems as needed for job functions and record-keeping.
\n

Required:

\n
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
\n

Preferred:

\n
• Ability to establish work priorities and handle several procedures simultaneously.
\n
• Interact well with other depts.
\n

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

\n
• Act 34
\n
