The Security Services Department's overall mission is to identify and counter security threats to the MIT Lincoln Laboratory's mission of development of game-changing technology in support of National Security, including guarding against compromise by foreign intelligence agencies and insider threats. To accomplish this mission, this department formulates and implements policies, plans, and actions designed to protect facilities against threats of vandalism, accidental destruction, and sabotage; and safeguards personnel, classified and unclassified information systems, personal identifiable information, property, and other assets from exploitation and recruitment by foreign intelligence agencies.

What will you do?
Join a team of security professionals that are driven to solve complex security problems in collaboration with Laboratory research teams and Government counterparts across the following industrial security areas:
* Investigations: Conduct various types of investigations ranging from classified material administrative inquiries, theft of property, vandalism, workplace violence and other investigations as required.
* Counterintelligence: Conduct counterintelligence investigations, create/develop/analyze intelligence information reports, conduct briefings and debriefings.
* Insider Threat: Collect and analyze information for potentially concerning behaviors that may impact the Laboratory's security posture, and provide input to enhancing the Insider Threat Education and Awareness program
* Security Education, Training and Awareness: Assist in the protection of research and technology by educating Laboratory personnel on Insider Threat indicators, Operations Security, international travel and defense against espionage
* Partnerships: Liaison with Federal Law Enforcement partners to include the FBI, Air Force OSI, NCIS, DoD, and intelligence agencies on all matters related to counterintelligence, suspicious activity and potential threats to the security posture of the Laboratory.

What you need/Requirements:
To work with MITLL, all employees must meet certain basic requirements.
* Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Homeland Security, Industrial Security, or related field required with professional or military training in a classified environment
* Minimum 3 years of security administration to include conducting investigations preferably within a DoD Industrial Security environment
* The ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret clearance.
* Must be a U.S. Citizen.
* Successfully pass a background check.

* Investigation's experience: Experience as an investigator conducting various types of investigations, interviewing, report writing and preparing / presenting briefings
* Valued competencies: Interpersonal, organizational, written and verbal communication skills.
* Computer skills: Familiarity with security management software, such as SIMS and government databases such as DISS (Defense Information Security System). Knowledge of business software: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Office, etc.
* Flexibility: Comfortable responding to off-hours emergencies and local/overnight travel as needed (infrequent, but a possibility).
