Job Description
Overview: We are seeking a creative and experienced Instructional Designer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing engaging and effective learning experiences. This role requires strong instructional design skills, a thorough understanding of adult learning principles, and the ability to work collaboratively with subject matter experts and other stakeholders.
Responsibilities: Curriculum Development: Design and develop curriculum and instructional materials for a variety of learning modalities, including e-learning, instructor-led training, blended learning, and self-paced courses.
Needs Analysis: Conduct needs analysis to identify learning objectives and performance gaps. Collaborate with stakeholders to determine training requirements and outcomes.
Content Creation: Create engaging and interactive content, including multimedia elements such as videos, simulations, and interactive activities. Ensure content is aligned with learning objectives and instructional design best practices.
Assessment Design: Develop assessment tools to measure learner performance and the effectiveness of instructional materials. Ensure assessments are valid, reliable, and aligned with learning objectives.
Technology Integration: Utilize instructional technologies and authoring tools to create and deliver content. Stay current with emerging technologies and incorporate them into instructional design as appropriate.
Project Management: Manage instructional design projects from inception to completion. Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
Evaluation and Improvement: Conduct evaluations of training programs and materials to assess their effectiveness. Gather feedback from learners and stakeholders to make continuous improvements.
Collaboration: Work closely with subject matter experts, trainers, and other stakeholders to gather content and ensure accuracy and relevance. Facilitate communication and collaboration throughout the design and development process.
Standards and Compliance: Ensure all instructional materials meet organizational standards and comply with relevant regulations and guidelines.
Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of instructional design processes, materials, and projects. Ensure documentation is up-to-date and accessible.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, or a related field. Master's degree is preferred.
3+ years of experience in instructional design and curriculum development.
Strong knowledge of instructional design principles and adult learning theories.
Proficiency in e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate) and learning management systems (LMS).
Experience with multimedia production tools (e.g., video editing software, graphic design software) is a plus.
Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills.
Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP), eLearning Guild certifications) are a plus.
$75,000 - $85,000 a year
