Contra Costa County Health has openings for 3 full-time Health Services Information Technology Supervisor positions assigned primarily to the Health Services Information Technology Unit and are located in Martinez, CA. What you will typically be responsible for: - Leads and participates in the operational activities for the work group assigned, which may include: app development, app support, and end-user support.
- Selects, trains, motivates, and evaluates information technology personnel.
- Develops and reports key performance indicators appropriate for the assigned team
- Conducts research on new and evolving computer technologies and recommends systems and improvements for the Department
- Assists in the preparation of presentations for information systems projects to a variety of internal and external committees
- When assigned to the app development, or app support teams: Analyzes information systems requirements and designs and implements processes and/or improvements that promote increased efficiency and effectiveness; identifies resource needs, drafts or updates system documentation; coordinates and provides user training as appropriate; and allocates resources accordingly

The eligible list established from this recruitment may remain in effect for six (6) months. Minimum Qualifications Education: Possession of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Computer Science, Medical Informatics, Healthcare Administration, Health Sciences, Business Administration, Public Administration, Engineering, or a closely related field.
Experience: Three (3) years of full-time, or its equivalent, experience as a manager, supervisor, or project lead in an information technology environment having responsibility for one or more of the following areas: application support, development/programming, data analysis and report development, systems analysis, technical support and/or network or server administration, at least two (2) years of which was in a health care information systems environment.
Substitution for Experience: Possession of a Master's Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in one of the fields noted above may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience.
Substitution for Education :
- One (1) additional year of qualifying experience noted above may be substituted for the required academic major; OR
- Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis, up to a maximum of two years; OR
- Possession of professional technical certifications can substitute for up to a maximum of two (2) years of the required education. Each of the following current and valid certifications can be substituted for six (6) months of required education:
- Any of the following Epic certifications: Ambulatory, Tapestry, Epic Resolute Hospital Billing, Epic Care Everywhere, Health Information Management, Prelude (Grand Central), EpicCare Inpatient (ClinDoc), Epic Client Systems Administrator/Manager (ECSM), or Operational Database Administrator
- Certified Associate in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CAHIMS)
- Health Level 7 (HL7) certification
- VMWare Certified Professional (VCP), VMWare Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP), VMWare Certified Design Expert (VCDX)
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE)
Certification: May be required to obtain and maintain vendor specific certifications on applications supported. The incumbent will be required to obtain the certification requested within 6 months of notification from their supervisor.
Selection Process - Application Filing and Evaluation: All applicants will be required to complete a supplemental questionnaire at the time of application. Applications will be evaluated to determine which candidates will move forward in the next phase of the recruitment process.
- Online Interview Assessment: Candidates that meet the minimum qualifications will be invited to participate in an online, on-demand interview. The interview will measure candidates' competencies as they relate to the job and will be rated by subject matter experts. In the interview, candidates must achieve an average passing score of 70% or higher on each of the competencies, as well as an overall passing score of 70% or higher. These may include but are not limited to the competencies listed above. ( Weighted 100%).
