Job Description
Bentwood Country Club , the 2017 USTA Featured Facility of the Year, is seeking a new
professional team member. We are a full service country club with 10 outdoor lit courts, 8
pickleball courts, a fitness center, swimming pool, restaurant and 18-hole golf course.
We have active junior and adult programs and are seeking a Head Professional who is as interested in
improving the business as much as they are themselves. We are looking for someone who is
professional, enthusiastic, punctual, good with kids and adults.The successful candidate must be
self-motivated, energetic and passionate about tennis and be able to teach, train and coach
individuals and teams at all ages and levels of abilities.
This includes planning and conducting adult clinics, women's tennis team practices, and all aspects of junior tennis including clinics and camps. This person must also have excellent communication skills when dealing with private club members and guests. Successful applicants will currently hold certification with the USPTA
or PTR, however we will accept an equivalent of 3 years teaching experience in a school or club in lieu of certification, or college tennis experience. UTR 9+ preferred. Pickleball experience would be a bonus.
JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for teaching, planning, implementing and promoting tennis
programs for all age groups, while providing outstanding customer service to the Members and
Guests of the Club. Maintain courts in a professional manner and ensure that the environment is
safe for all those who use the facility.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Effectively plans, organizes and conducts tennis lessons for all ages and abilities.
- Arranges and conducts camps/clinics and can play in with the higher level juniors.
- Works with the Director to monitor tennis shop operations & merchandising.
- Creating and sending communications to tennis membership
- Ensures players receive exemplary customer service and understands the importance of building individual guest contacts.
- Assist in planning and promoting social tennis/pickleball events for membership.
- Will be required to work some shop hours and work some weekends.
- Occasionally repairs and restrings tennis equipment.
- Required to become a certified USTA Official and participate in USTA locally run events as well as Club run events.
- Obtain a basic understanding of Pickleball rules and play. (There is great potential for someone with Pickleball experience to offer clinics and run the leagues, events.)
This is a full-time position. Compensation will include a base salary, hourly rates for group and
private lessons and programming and a percentage of personally taught lessons.Estimated package of $75k-$85k depending on experience and qualifications.
