Affinitiv is looking for a Graphic Design Intern with an understanding of basic design principles and a strong desire to learn. The Graphic Design Intern is responsible for providing support for the design team through a variety of channels including print and digital. The Graphic Design Intern will report to the Art Director.

The internship program offers hands-on experience in the art department of a full service (traditional and digital) advertising agency. This internship is for outgoing, hardworking individuals who want to pursue a career in the creative field. After completion, the intern will have an understanding of basic design principles, print layouts, web design and pre-press procedures as well as an understanding of advertising and how to make an impact in the world of marketing.

Professional skills developed through the 9 week internship program:

• Experience with time management in a fast-paced environment.
• Relationship development and confidence with facing retailers, field, and corporate team members.
• An understanding of the needs of both clients and the organization.
• Sharpened presentation skills by delivering an end of program presentation on project work, results, and key take-aways from the internship experience.
• Lastly, professional coaching and career advice through weekly open Q & A sessions with a designated Affinitiv Executive Leadership mentor.

Essential Functions of a Graphic Designer Intern:

• Execute designs and editorial changes to marketing campaigns.
• Manage all lines of communications (teams, emails, work, etc).
• Asset management and branding updates across multiple client databases

Qualifications :

• Matriculated student, GPA 3.0 or higher preferred
• Currently enrolled in a Graphic Design or related degree
• Rising Junior or Senior
• No work experience necessary
• Experience working with the following software:
• Proficient in latest version of Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop. Experience with After Effects is a bonus.
• Microsoft Suite of Products
• Creative Thinker to help develop new design concepts, graphics and layouts
• Fast learner who can take feedback to adapt design style and graphics
• Adaptable , able to meet tight deadlines and client required timelines
• Legally authorized to work in the United States
