About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director to provide professional leadership and management for its organization, cemeteries, and affiliated funeral home. The successful candidate will be responsible for the financial stability and growth of the organization, overseeing a significant number of annual burials, and maintaining critical relationships with government officials, elder-care facilities, and a wide range of stakeholders. This role requires a hands-on executive with a strong background in development, including grant management and individual donor solicitation, as well as experience in collaborating with a Board of Directors on budget, vision, and strategic goals. The Executive Director will also be the primary fundraiser, ensuring the organization's annual revenue requirements are met, and will be expected to have a deep knowledge of and commitment to Jewish customs, traditions, and values. Applicants for the Executive Director position at the company should have a minimum of 10 years' experience in a complex organization, with a preference for those with a background in Jewish not-for-profit. The role demands a visionary leader with a big-picture perspective, yet detail-oriented, and the ability to be flexible in meeting the evolving needs of the community and staff. The ideal candidate will be an energetic, forward-thinking, and creative individual with high ethical standards, excellent problem-solving, and communication skills, and a proven track record in fundraising. A BA degree is required, with a Master's degree preferred, and the candidate should be tech-savvy with business and CRM software. The Executive Director will also be responsible for the administrative operations, staff management, and ensuring fiscal responsibility within a balanced budget.
