Role Description: The Email Developer and Automation Specialist is responsible for both B2B and B2C product emails. This person will work on multiple email projects including creating templates in HTML, campaign set-up and launch, and testing and analysis. We are looking for a person who is passionate about email and is excited to test new ideas. The ideal candidate can hit the ground running using best practices for email development to translate product designs into Salesforce MC emails to create new email template systems. Qualified candidates will be comfortable working on a number of projects at once in a fast-paced environment. This position is located in Washington, DC and offers the following schedule: 4 days onsite / 1 day remote.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Perform day-to-day email tasks including email calendar management, campaign set-up, designing, scheduling, testing, and deploying newsletters, automated campaigns, and client sponsored emails. Must have experience in sending to large client audiences of 50K+.
  2. Build, test and deploy email campaigns including editing copy, layout, links, and complex dynamic and personalized content.
  3. Coordinate with design team to develop and hand code mobile responsive email campaigns from design to HTML.
  4. Maintain QA process to ensure all communications are brand compliant.
  5. Manage vendors and email platforms, monitor email performance, and generate analytics reports to assess delivery and campaign efficiency.
  6. Work with Consumer Engagement and various product managers to bring product emails to life.
  7. Develop best practices that can be shared across brand platforms and troubleshoot all aspects of email operations.
  8. Identify opportunities to improve existing and develop new email campaigns that drive engagement and revenue.
  9. Stay regularly informed of industry changes and advances.
  10. Contribute to email strategic development.
  11. Other duties and ad hoc projects as assigned.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited, not-for-profit University or College.
  2. 3+ years of experience in an email development role, building and designing email templates and programs, with strong HTML/CSS/Ampscript and web design skills.
  3. 1+ years of experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud (ExactTarget) or similar.
  4. Working knowledge of CAN-SPAM, CASL, email best practices, including design principles, metrics, data hygiene and compliance.
  5. Ability to use web-based email testing tools (Litmus, Return Path or similar).
  6. Ability to develop and implement automated email campaigns.
  7. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Adobe creative suite (i.e. In-Design, Photoshop, Illustrator).
  8. Experience in Google Analytics.
  9. A track record of commitment to prior employers.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  1. Knowledge of Pardot.
  2. Basic knowledge of SQL and or SQL Server Management Studio preferred.
  3. Experience with commercial real-estate market and data management a plus.
  4. Strong ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines for time-sensitive assignments.
  5. Must be creative, extremely detail-oriented and organized.
  6. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  7. Ability to interact with all levels of management, able to take direction well and yet function independently and as part of a team.
