Job Title: Data Entry Specialist

Reports to: Bookkeeper

Location: LIC, NY

Position Summary:

Kommissary is a social enterprise on a mission to spread joy through food. We produce andd deliver high volumes of meals spanning a diverse array of cuisines to every demographic in New York City.

The Data Entry Specialist is responsible for accurately inputting and maintaining data in our systems. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to handle a large volume of data with accuracy and efficiency. This role requires a high level of reliability and confidentiality, as well as the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. At Kommissary, you'll become part of a team dedicated to delivering unparalleled hospitality.

Responsibilities & Duties:

· Accurately enter data into databases, spreadsheets, and other digital platforms from various sources including paper documents, electronic files, and other media.

· Review and verify data for accuracy and completeness. Detect and correct data entry erors, ensuring high levels of data integrity.

· Maintain and update data as necessary, ensuring the most current and accurate information is available.

· Organize and maintain physical and electronic files and records in a systematic manner.

· Conduct regular audits of data entries to ensure accuracy and completeness.

· Generate reports and summaries of entered data as required.

· Handle sensitive information in a confidential and professional manner.

· Assist with other administrative tasks as needed, including filing, scanning, and copying documents.

Physical Demands: Generally, presents standard office environment. Must be able to remain in a stationary position >95% of the time. Continually operates a computer, keyboard and mouse, and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, printer, and mobile Smartphone device. Constantly positions self to comfortably maintain computer equipment. May occasionally be required to move about in an office setting or position office equipment weighing between 10-25 pounds. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Ability to operate a motor vehicle. The person in this position frequently communicates with other people. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.

Compensation:

Pay range is $17.00 to $20.00, depending on skill level, experience and/or education. Compensation offered is also subject to local wage and hour laws.

Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Additional certification in data entry or related field is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a data entry clerk or similar position. Experience in maintaining data confidentiality and accuracy.
  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) and database management software.
  • Strong typing skills with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High level of reliability, discretion, and trustworthiness.
  • Ability to handle a large volume of data efficiently and accurately.
