Job Summary
This posting will be used to fill multiple vacancies located at our Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) headquarters in St. Paul. The work schedule for these vacancies will vary in days/hours.
The Criminal Intelligence Analyst 3 positions serve as team leads for Criminal Intelligence Analysts in a specialized area (e.g., homicide, violent crimes, predatory crimes, financial crimes, narcotics, use of force, Fusion Center). The positions will coordinate crime analytical resources and the programmatic gathering, analysis and dissemination of criminal intelligence and is a subject matter expert in advanced crime analyst techniques and tools for the specialty area.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice or a related field AND four (4) years of experience in criminal investigative work in a law enforcement, military or other closely related field
OR
Master’s degree in criminal justice or a related field AND three (3) years of experience in criminal investigative work in a law enforcement, military or other closely related field
OR
Associate’s degree in criminal justice or a related field AND five (5) years of experience in criminal investigative work in a law enforcement, military or other closely related field
OR
Six (6) years of experience in criminal investigative work in a law enforcement, military or other closely related field
AND
Ability to work cooperatively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and underserved communities.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced educational degree.
Significant years of experience as a criminal intelligence analyst.
Security Clearance.
Physical Requirements
Requires occasionally moving and transporting 50-pound items and frequently moving and transporting objects such as heavy tools and heavy file boxes. This job may require positioning self to move to a significant degree across rough terrain or may involve maintaining a stationary position for extended periods.
