Job Description

Construction Laborer - $20 - $24/hr

 

This position performs startup, on-site repair, and maintenance of fuel storage tank and dispensing systems at retail gas stations and commercial fueling facilities. System equipment includes underground tanks, above ground tanks, point of sale systems, card systems, dispensers, tank monitors, submersible pumps, piping and other petroleum equipment.

 

General Job Description:

 

The position performs a variety of functions including the installation of fuel storage tank and dispensing systems at retail gas stations and commercial fueling facilities along with general construction activities such as piping, excavating, and concrete.

 

Duties:

• Hands-on labor to install fuel tanks, piping, submersible pumps, fuel dispensers, and other equipment
• Preparation and clean up of construction site areas, operate and care for equipment and machines such as skid steer, mini excavator, forklift

• Operate and care for equipment and machines such as skid steer, mini excavator, forklift, etc.
• Load or unload construction materials.
• Follow instructions from supervisors.
• Commit to and follow all safety standards and guidelines.
• Obtain and maintain industry and manufacturer certifications. (Training is provided.)
• Ready to learn from on-the job training when necessary.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
• Demonstrate effective communication skills with supervisor, co-workers, customers, and the public.
• Ability to analyze problems and develop viable solutions.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common industry regulatory standards and

  manufacturer's recommendations.

• Ability to integrate basic mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems. 

   

Physical Requirements & Conditions:

• Drive daily and occasionally for extensive periods.

• Crouch, kneel, twist, bend, reach, and walk on a regular basis.

• Lift, push, pull, and carry objects on a regular basis, up to and over 100lbs.
• Wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) in designated operations.
• Work outdoors in extreme weather conditions on a regular basis.Enter confined spaces and work from heights or ladders, occasionally.
• Stand on concrete or pavement on a regular basis and for extensive periods.
• Work in a retail environment on a regular basis, occasionally with heavy traffic flow.
• Work in a commercial construction environment.

Requirements:

• Valid Driver’s License
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds
• Must be able to get a DOT physical and pass a drug test
• Must have a clean driving record
• Ability to work a smartphone

This position offers:

• Monday through Friday schedule. No weekends!
