JOB DESCRIPTION

NY Enrichment Group seeks several reliable, self-motivated, independent, fun-loving, Robotics Instructors to join our team. The robotics instructor will develop, plan and lead hands-on lego robotics projects. The successful candidate will create opportunities where students are active, safe, and respectful while developing leadership and conflict-resolution skills. The instructor must be enthusiastic and exhibit a high degree of professionalism, a strong commitment to the communities we serve and demonstrate the ability to motivate, inspire and educate. We are seeking a passionate, motivated and creative professional who truly enjoys enriching the lives of children.

Duties include:

  • Leading robotics classes for youth in middle school

  • Creating curriculum & lesson plans for each session.

  • Facilitating classes that follow a social group work model

  • Responsible for managing a classroom of 15-20 students

  • Prep for classes: arriving 15 minutes to set up and prepare to start class on time.

  • Clean up: must leave locations in the condition found, or cleaner.

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with staff, parents, and scholars.

  • Follow up after classes with NYEG Director of Operations.

  • Maintain a positive, healthy, safe, supportive and welcoming environment.

COVID vaccination REQUIRED.

Requirements:

  • Candidate should be highly responsible, reliable, punctual, flexible, outspoken, honest, self-motivated, and work with integrity. This is an independent role, with little direct supervision.

  • Candidate should be comfortable working with children, and comfortable working independently leading a class of students. Candidate should be a clear communicator, have a positive attitude, and be able to manage a classroom effectively.

  • Relevant performance experience

Preferred but not necessary:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university

  • At least 2 years of experience working with youth

  • Teaching experience and classroom management skills

  • A knowledge of, and willingness to teach robotics
