As Cvent’s Chief Marketing Officer and influential member of the executive team, you’ll play a critical role in the growth and positioning of the business. You’ll oversee all marketing activities that help evolve our brand, increasing revenue, awareness, and relevance amongst target audiences.

In This Role, You Will:

  1. Build and develop a diverse team of marketers who are creative and collaborative.
  2. Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy that is aligned with the company’s revenue, client retention, and strategic growth goals.
  3. Work cross-functionally with key stakeholders in sales, customer success, and product functions to ensure that marketing efforts are aligned with the product roadmap, revenue initiatives, and the overall growth strategy of the business.
  4. Define and implement operational metrics, KPIs, and other measurements of success that measure, optimize, and continually improve efficiency and effectiveness of marketing programs, tactics, and strategy.
  5. Drive demand generation through SEO, content, paid marketing, display, email marketing, website conversion, trade shows, co-marketing, and branding; managing funnel metrics to build awareness, drive leads, and manage through conversion.
  6. Solve problems and scale marketing through investment in new and existing marketing technologies.
  7. Initiate and implement messaging strategies that differentiate the company and drive adoption of this messaging internally and externally.
  8. Create a marketing narrative that creates a sense of community and develops a following, raises awareness and visibility.
  9. Establish a forward-thinking and modern marketing organization that experiments, is agile, and is aggressive in using new tactics and ideas.
  10. Understand the competitive market environment with insights and market research to express Cvent’s proposition through corporate marketing, including PR, partnerships, and driving the outward face of the brand.
  11. Manage and monitor marketing resources and spend to ensure each action is optimized in its effectiveness, quality, and that there is a clear mindset of measurement (ROI) within the team.

Here's What You Need:

  1. Experience building and scaling B2B SaaS organizations (ideally) from $750M+ to over $1B+ in ARR.
  2. Proven success as a CMO or in a similar role across a global, enterprise B2B SaaS company.
  3. Full stack marketer who spikes in revenue, funnel management / demand gen, performance marketing, etc.
  4. Proven track record excelling in demand generation, including driving leads at high volumes where Marketing generates the majority of the pipeline for Sales.
  5. Proven track record of developing scalable marketing processes; strong understanding of funnel math; ability to manage the numbers.
  6. Ability to lead all aspects of brand, positioning, product marketing, content, demand generation, market research, communications, and our in-house creative studio to build funnel, acquire/convert, and retain target customers.
  7. Deep experience formulating and executing account-based marketing strategies; experience with ABM technology (6sense, Demandbase, Terminus, Rollworks, etc.) is a plus. Working knowledge on various SaaS tracking tools to manage and monitor marketing activities, forecast, analyze, and drive marketing process improvements.
  8. Knowledge of, and appreciation for, the components and importance of a world-class Marketing Tech stack to underpin the marketing engine.
  9. Expertise in digital marketing tactics including PPC, SEO, 3rd party placements, digital content distribution etc.
  10. Deeply skilled in product marketing including a proven track record of product positioning, creating effective messaging that cuts through the noise without “biz buzz”, and building value propositions.
  11. Skilled content marketer with a track record of building content marketing strategies that continue to build Cvent’s brand and drive leads.
  12. Proven ability to serve as the voice of the customer. Ability to communicate key differentiators of our products and identify opportunities for future growth.
  13. Success creating GTM strategy in collaboration with Product and Sales to target enterprise customers and ensure relevant, consistent messaging and experience for each buyer persona.
  14. History of recruiting, mentoring, and growing a world-class marketing team and developing leaders who will inspire the team to deliver meaningful and measured results.
  15. Experience leading teams with – at minimum – 100+ global marketers.
  16. Highly sophisticated, mature, pragmatic, team-oriented, hard-working, and collaborative.
  17. Exceptional EQ and self-awareness. Knows how to communicate effectively with all levels of the company while being a collaborative team player.
