Position Title : Broadcast Editor Department: Broadcast Media Reports To : Director of Media Position Status: Full Time, Regular Job Class: Exempt **Attention: For consideration, you are required to include a link of your demo reel.** OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY: The
Broadcast Editor is primarily responsible for editing sermons/messages, commercials, promos, and graphics and will also edit and produce special elements for the weekly and daily broadcasts for the Changing Your World television broadcast.
Supervisory Duties: None
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Edit television programs incorporating all assigned visual and audio segments
- Edit commercials and promotional spots airing within the TV broadcast
- Create/Edit broadcast graphics as needed
- Confirm that all content/graphics comply with CYW/CDM brand standards
- Efficiently edit content in a timely manner meeting strict deadlines
- Incorporate good storytelling techniques
- Ensure that all technical guidelines are adhered to within the content
- Manage digital assets in organized manner
- Communicate effectively with co-workers and outside vendors
- Remain up to date on new and emerging industry and media trends
- Maintain stable performance and demeanor when working under pressure
- Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION: - BS or BA degree in communication, media and/or film production or related field
- High School Diploma or GED
EXPERIENCE: - 5+ years' experience of professional video editing for documentary, commercial, or educational content
- Strong understanding of editing workflows and file structure
- In depth understanding of required broadcast standards
- Proficient in Final Cut Pro, Premiere, or Avid
- Detail oriented with the ability to prioritize
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work well under pressure

- Troubleshoot minor system and equipment issues and initiate repairs requests

- Commitment to deadlines and timelines
- Self-starter
- Proficient using MacOS and PC
- Strong familiarity with English language (grammar, spelling, punctuation, etc)
- A gracious, Christ-like demeanor in demanding situations
EQUIPMENT TO BE USED: - Final Cut Pro, Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, Photoshop, After Effects, etc.)
- Mac and Windows Desktop computers, Fax, Copier, Video & Audio Equipment
