Body Closures Design Engineer

About the job

Our client is a major leading OEM, focusing on the manufacturing of next generation Electric Vehicles. The Ideal Candidate will be responsible for executing and leading the full design process from Concept to production.

Responsibilities

• Strong technical understanding of automotive Closure systems, including design, development, and release processes.
• Responsible to lead the design and development of weight efficient closure designs to deliver the highest level of performance in NVH, durability, and crash performance from a blank page through to production.
• Experience in managing engineering releases and change management for complex projects, including BOM management and related PLM activities.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of accumulated experience in vehicle body engineering.
• Understanding of CAE tools and how they work. Using CAE out put to improve the body design
• Design and engineer parts and systems for the closures systems such as doors, hoods, decklids and sealing systems.
• Develop conceptual packaging models for various closures components including sheet metals, multi-material components, seal extrusions and closures hardware
