responsibilities:
- Develop and execute cell culture process in shake flasks and bench-scale bioreactors.
- Protein expression in E. coli., insect, and mammalian cell culture systems.
- Characterize expression with SDS-PAGE and Western blot.
- Interact with cross-functional team members and communicate precise, reliable, and reproducible data in a timely manner.
- Excellent documentation of experimental results in electronic laboratory notebooks.
- Summarize experiments, results, and conclusions and present them to the team.
- Work independently with team spirit. Accountable for individual technical performance and for contributing results to the team.
qualifications:
- BS or MS in molecular biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, or other relevant biological sciences with BS or MS degree.
- Experience in protein expression using E. coli, insect (Sf9), or mammalian system (HEK or CHO cells). Having experience in multiple expression systems is a plus.
- Good problem-solving skills. Capable of finding the root cause of problems and solving them in innovative ways.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build open and collaborative relationships in a multidisciplinary environment are essential.
- Detailed and timely record keeping to document and communicate work processes
- An ability to efficiently manage several projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to lift, carry, push or pull weights of 30 lbs/13.6 kgs or more.
