Overview:

Waterway has an immediate opportunity for a part-time Accounting Assistant at our Chesterfield, MO Corporate Headquarters. The Accounting Assistant will assist with A/P responsibilities, prepare journal entries, audit store activity, and contribute to monthly closing process. This is an impactful position providing experience in entry-level business accounting.

This position offers a flexible 20-25 hour per week schedule and is based at our Corporate Headquarters located at 727 Goddard Avenue, Chesterfield, MO 63005.

Compensation and Benefits:

Responsibilities:

• Process accounts payable entries accurately and in a timely manner.
• Prepare journal entries.
• Perform store audits on a variety of accounting functions.
• Miscellaneous accounting tasks as assigned.
• Participate in accounting department monthly closing process.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

• Have a Degree in Accounting or Finance or be currently enrolled in a Degree program.
• Must be able to work a flexible part-time schedule of approx. 20-25 hours per week, M-F.
• Have a full and valid drivers’ license (and acceptable driving record) and able to pass a post-offer criminal background and drug screen.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States and not require work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future.

 

The ideal candidate will also demonstrate:

• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and procedures
• Experience with Microsoft Office products: Outlook, Word, Excel
• Strong attention to detail
• Well-organized and able to multi-task
• Self-motivated, with a strong desire to learn, and a high interest in professional and personal development.

• Environmental – office based, with requirement to be able to work onsite at locations outside for limited periods of time.
• Physical – must be able to walk, sit for extended periods of time.
• Vision and Hearing – Far and near visual acuity, peripheral vision and depth perception. Hear, understand, and distinguish speech from other sounds.
• Language – must be able to fluently speak and understand English when communicating with other team members, managers, and customers for business related purposes.
• Attendance – maintain regular, predictable, and punctual attendance. Work as assigned schedule.
